Hotel Information - Book Your Room Today

The Hershey Lodge will serve as the host hotel for the 2019 NEAFCS Annual Session. 

Make your reservations directly with the Hershey Lodge by calling 855-729-3108, and ask for the room block for the NEAFCS - National Extension Assn of Family & Consumer Sciences Conference to receive the discounted room rate of $189 per room, per night (excluding taxes). The Hershey Lodge will only be able to offer this rate through August 29, 2019. Once the room block is sold out, even if this is before the cut-off date, a higher prevailing rate may apply. Call for Proposals for the 2019 Annual Session Now Open

NEAFCS is now accepting proposals for the 2019 Annual Session in Hershey, PA from September 30 - October 3. You can choose to submit a proposal to present during a Concurrent Session or at the Showcase of Excellence. 

You must be a current NEAFCS member to submit a proposal; however team members can be any Extension professional or Community partner. Members selected to present will be required to register for the Annual Session; this includes all team presenters. Only properly completed online abstract submissions will be considered.

Deadline for submissions is January 31, 2019.

2019 Presentation Proposal Selection Criteria

  • Addresses an emerging issue, relevant problem, or community need
  • Provides participants with new skills, knowledge, or abilities
  • Demonstrates effectiveness through program process, outcome, or impact evaluation
  • Clear, concise, and correct grammar and spelling

This year's tracks include:

  • Administration/Leadership/Community and Economic Development
  • Life Span Development: Aging, Child Development, Human Development and related topics
  • Child Care/Child Development/Parenting
  • Sustainable Living: Textiles, Clothing, Housing, Environment and related topics
  • Life Member
  • Financial Management
  • Food Safety
  • Chronic Disease Prevention
  • Health
  • Food and Nutrition
  • Technology and Social Media
  • 4-H and Youth Development
  • Trending Topics (This track is for your innovative proposal that may not fit into one of the above tracks)

2019 Annual Session Request for Proposal Reviewers Now Open 

From December 11th until January 31st, NEAFCS is looking for individuals to sign up to be a reviewer for programs to be presented at the 2019 Annual Session in Hershey, PA.  You will be asked to review from February 1-22. This experience is an opportunity to enhance your Vita for promotion. You can also learn ideas to present in the future. 

It would be helpful if reviewers would watch the webinar Write a Winning NEAFCS Proposal Submission scheduled for December 12th which can be found on the NEAFCS website under the Professional Development tab/Webinars.
