ALL SCHOLARSHIPS HAVE BEEN AWARDED FOR 2024.
NEAFCS will provide 10 scholarships of $475 each to assist NEAFCS members in attending the JCEP Public Issues Leadership Development (PILD) Conference April 15-17, 2024. These scholarships will be awarded to the designee as described below.
In addition to the 10 scholarships noted above, NEAFCS will also award 2 scholarships to presenters of PILD (pending proposal acceptance). More details on these qualifications and requirements coming soon.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Affiliate Presidents may use any criteria they wish to select one first-time representative from their state to apply for a PILD Scholarship. Prospective applicants should check with their Affiliate President prior to completing the application.
- Only one (1) scholarship will be awarded per Affiliate for a first-time attendee. Awardees will be designated on a first-come, first-serve basis when all application criteria are met.
- If an Affiliate does not designate a scholarship representative, any individual from the Affiliate who would be a first-time attendee may apply. If more than one individual applies, the scholarship will be awarded to the application with the earliest submission date.
- NEAFCS members can only receive a registration scholarship from one JCEP Association to attend PILD even if they hold membership in more than one association.
- Attendance is required at all PILD general sessions and the NEAFCS association meeting.
IMPORTANT - If you received the PILD Virtual Scholarship in 2020 or 2021, you are eligible to apply again. Any questions, please contact [email protected].
Registration & Issuing of Scholarship Funds:
- Scholarship recipients will be notified before the PILD Early Bird Registration deadline so they can take advantage of the discounted registration rate of $475.
- NEAFCS will issue funds directly to JCEP ONLY if you follow this process - Scholarship recipients must register with JCEP prior to the early-bird deadline. Select to pay via check and email your registration invoice to NEAFCS directly ([email protected]).
- For those who do not send NEAFCS their open JCEP invoice prior to the early bird deadline must pay JCEP DIRECTLY at the time of registering. These recipients can then request the funds post-PILD Conference ONCE their reflections statement has been received. Scholarships are paid directly to recipient, their state affiliate or university by NEAFCS.
- Following the PILD Conference, all scholarship recipients will compose a short reflective paragraph about their PILD experience which will be posted on the NEAFCS website and included in future NEAFCS news articles.
